Porsche 911 (996) GT3 RSR ~ 2004 ~ Minichamps
One of the many recolors that PMA did based on the 996 RSR, the orange version is not based on any real car. The model is well detailed because, as we know, Minichamps gives a lot of attention to their motorsport models. The car's front hood opens to reveal the fuel tank fully wired. If the AA version has it's front hood completly detachable the PMA model has a normal dog-leg opening hood. The interior is well detailed. Many wires, a fire extinguisher and other racing elements. The bucket seat is probably the center piece of the interior. The engine bonnet is detachable. The engine is pretty detailed considering there isn't too much to see because of the tight space. The bbs rims look outstanding, porbably one of the model's highlights, complete with brake discs, callipers and with slicks. The front splitter is well detailed and it is covered with a big photo-etched piece. Sadly, the side intakes are only modeled and not perforated, detail that alongside the side markers which are just painted give a cheap look do the sides of the front bumper-fenders. The paint's overall quality is good.
If you are looking for a 996 GT3 RSR and you have to choose between the AA and the PMA I'd rather go for the AA but the PMA is not a bad model either.
